About Set Balkis
The kitchen is one of my main hobbies in life.
It all started when I was 7 years old; my family and I had to flee the city of Beirut to a Lebanese village just like most of the Lebanese people at that time.
I can never forget the taste of the first tomato I picked up from the ground; I believe at that moment I discovered the strength of my taste buds.
My curiosity led me to ask the women of the village about different flavors and spices.
When I graduated from high school, my father did not permit me to enroll in the University of Chefs as he considered this profession unsuitable for females.
Hello, my name is Balkis Mousa Othman. I hold a university degree in Sociology as well as an educational license. I underwent several training courses in the art and technology of cooking. I gained experience through various work in restaurants, and I participated in several TV programs, including:
